TRAINING IN ADVOCACY SKILLS*
I can train you to participate and become an active advocate for your child during the IEP / 504 process, and your child to be his / her own advocate inside and outside the classroom.
INDIVIDUALIZED
TUTORING SERVICES*
As a former educator, I am highly skilled to help your child study for the SAT / ACT tests, enhance their reading and writing skills, and improve their grades in all major subjects (i.e. English, history, science, math).
PRIVATE
CONSULTATIONS*
We can chat on the phone and have private 1-hour consultation sessions to assist you throughout the entire IEP / 504 process. Consultations can also be done through text messaging!
MEETING PARTICIPATION
I can participate in IEP, 504, or any school-based meetings to guide you through the process, facilitate communication, and assist you in accomplishing your goals for your child.
Please note: If you would like me to accompany you to your child's IEP / 504 meeting or other school-based meetings, please provide me with the appropriate educational documents and give at least two weeks’ notice or a choice of a few meeting dates in order to prepare for the meeting.
NOTARY SERVICE
Do you need a document notarized? As a notary public, I can "serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents."
Please note: This service is free to all current Rise Owl Advocacy clients. Those who are not clients, but need a quick notarization of a document will be charged up to $2.50 (cost depends on the type of document).
POST-SECONDARY SCHOOL PREPARATION*
More and more children with disabilities are planning to continue their education in post-secondary schools. Let me help your child prepare for his / her next educational chapter in life.
DOCUMENT REVIEW
& ANALYSIS
I can conduct a thorough review of your child’s records to provide appropriate recommendations and accommodations, and to help you develop a strategy for moving the process forward.
OPEN PUBLIC RECORDS ACT (OPRA) REQUESTS
The New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA) is a statute that provides a right to the public to access certain public records. I can submit requests for you to obtain any public records regarding your child.
